The guide to the Maltese islands

On the 13th June 2012, www.gozoandmalta.com was launched and from then on, it has enjoyed tremendous success.  GozoandMalta.com is a comprehensive guide covering various topics that other travel related websites on the islands do not.  During its first few months, thousands of visitors have found the website useful in planning their holiday to the Maltese islands.

Browsing through its hundreds of pages and thousands of photos will be your first step in discovering what Gozo, Comino and Malta has to offer.  The website is regularly updated with up-to-date content and gives prominence to areas with unique culture and history rather than the usual tourist traps.

The nice weather is back on the island!

Finally the sun is shining back on the island of Gozo and this is the perfect weather to go out.  Last weekend (9th  - 11th March) the island experienced some of the worse weather I ever saw.  The ferry crossing between the island even stopped working on Friday evening and I don't remember the last time bad weather caused to ferry to cancel their operations.

All is history now and as a Maltese proverb says, "wara l-maltemp jigi l-bnazzi" which means after the bad weather comes fine weather.  Indeed, this is the type of weather we want and hope it will last because the busy season on the island is approaching.  One is expecting a good number of visitors on the first weeks of April due to the Easter holidays.  Let's hope this is so and in the meantime check out the following picture which shows the greenery of the island of Gozo after all the rain we experienced!

The Beautiful island of Gozo

Picture above shows the inland sea in Gozo, one of the top attractions on the island.  Gozo is the island many visitors admire for its unspoiled countryside and quaint villages.  Many visitors seem to return on the island once they visit the first time which shows that the island despite being small in size have lots of things to offer and various places of interest.  Gozo is completely different compared to the main island Malta and is definitely a destination on its own right.

Carnival In Gozo

Carnival is certainly the most awaited event on the island of Gozo. Infact amongst all cities and villages on the maltese islands, the one celebrated in Nadur in Gozo is by far the most popular.

This year carnival will happen in the weekend 4th - 6th March and as usual will attract people from all over the islands and dress up in all sorts of weird and funny costume and just go out in the streets to join the fun.

Indeed carnival in Gozo is known to be one of the most spontenous in Europe and will certainly leave its visitors entertained.

In 2005, the Nadur Carnival hosted the largest-ever gathering of international Carnival organizers for the FECC's (Federaton European Carnival cities) global summit.
